After knocking out Lei Shen the Thunder King last week to get a full normal clear the Burn Phase raid team set their sights on the first Heroic boss in the Throne of Thunder. Tuesday our raid got one-shot by the attendance boss and we knew that Thursday we would be pugging a healer so that left us with just 4 scant hours of the week to do progression. For most of the night it did not look good. Surviving the Lightning Storms required a lot of running for your life and praying that you didn't get screwed by RNG while playing 4-way frogger with balls of lightning. That mechanic was the fight for all intents and purposes. After a short time it became apparent that if we could make it through that we could kill the boss. Then we spent the next 3+ hours wiping to the same stuff over and over again. But with less than 10 minutes left in the raid night it all came together, we got through the first two storms cleanly and with the enrage timer ticking down and crys of "HIT HIM WITH YOUR PURSE!" and "BURN HIM JUST BURN HIM" in vent the last few points of Heroic Jin'rokh the Breaker's health ticked away.
Grats to, Meene, Erman, Collonquis, Murdertooth, Nypa, Mcfuzzeh, Nikina, Healbot, Palthus and Sage on the kill. Well done all.

On March 6th the Throne of Thunder opened up and the raiders of Burn Phase began their assault on the stronghold of Lei Shen the Thunder King. Ten weeks and 11 bosses later we stood face to face with Lei Shen. Three hours later (which included a very long midraid break that was extended due to dog related extensuating circumstances) Lei Shen lay dead and the ten heroes of Burn Phase once again stood victorious.
Congratulations to Meene, Nikina, Collonquis, Murdertooth, Nypa, Healbot, Mcfuzzeh, Sage, Erman and Palthus on your full Throne of Thunder clear. This has been a really fun teir with some very nice fights, can't wait to see it on hard modes.

The week began with a challenge, if we clear Terrace of Endless Spring and Heart of Fear on Tuesday the best dressed Tauren in the game Palthus would let the raiders of Burn Phase pick a new transmog set for him. Fastforward four hours and Sha of Fear and Grand Empress Shek'zeer lay dead. So stay tuned for whatever terribly clashing outfit the BP raid team can come up with.

After deciding to pass on Heroic Stone Guard for that past couple of weeks because we didn't want to mess with chains for a boss with very little loot that anyone wants his number came up and we knocked him out without much trouble.
After working on Heroic Elegon for the second week things really came together. After some strat changes that kept our healers and DPS from getting nom-nomed by the adds during phase transitions a sparkly dragon shaped light appeared at the end of the tunnel. As the night went on your attempts got better and better finally culminating in a kill. And to top it all off Thigan has a pro looking kill video made up for us. Thanks Thigan for the video and good work to everyone in on the kills.

So after a long grind through normal modes on 1/10/13 we finally finished off the Sha of Fear to stick a fork in normal mode progression for T14. After the quagmire that was HoF, Terrace was a nice change; pleasent surrounding fun bosses and fairly quick progression made Terrace of Endless Spring an enjoyable although slightly anti-climatic finish to Normal Modes.

On 1/23/13 the first HM of the xpac was knocked out when we got Feng the Accursed. A fun fight that never felt out of reach, With any luck we can get a few more of these down before the next patch hits.
Grats to the raid team members that were in on both kills: Collonquis, Bojáckson, Nypa, Ërman, Mcfuzzeh, Nikina, Hëalbot, Sàge, Meene and Palthus

2012 ended with a rough couple of weeks with attendance issues, holidays, loosing raiders, getting new raiders, loosing those raiders, picking up more new raiders and being stuck in Heart of Fear for what seemed like forever. Well the new year brought about a stabilized raid roster, solid attendance and that lead to some dead bosses. New Year's Day the revitalized (and only slightly hung over) raiders of Burn Phase made the boss they had been stuck on for seemingly forever look easy knocking out Ambershaper Un'sok early in the night. The next day the new look BP raid team began work on that renegade roach Grand Empress Shek'zeer. After a raid night that showed steady progress throughout those five magical words were uttered in vent, "Last pull of the night". And with those words the Burn Phase raid team rose to new level of execution and gave Grand Empress Shek'zeer the Marie Antoinette treatment, clearing Heart of Fear and opening up the final raid of Teir 14 Terrace of Endless Spring.
Grats to Collonquis, Bojáckson, Nypa, Ërman, Mcfuzzeh, Nikina, Hëalbot, Sàge, Meene and Palthus for your great work finishing off Heart of Fear

Step 1) Idea, Step 2) ?, Step 3) Collect lewts
With the new staggered raid release we find ourselves with an interesting set of challenges and a choice of direction. We've got Normal Mogu'shan Vaults down (about half the raid team was in a PUG that killed Will of the Emperor Friday and WoE is a piece of cake, he's a bigger step down in difficulty than Heroic Madness was from Heroic Spine). We've got Heart of Fear out and after clearing that Terrace of Endless Spring opens up to us. That leads to questions regarding what to do next because we have lots of options. Heroic Mogu'shan Vaults or Normal Heart of Fear is the one that is in front of us right now. When it comes to which path we are going to take I have two things I want our raid team to always have:
1) Something to Farm: Farming bosses isn't exciting but it keeps your group progressing against the escalating gear curve that later bosses present.
2) Something to Progress on: The purpose of raiding is to challenge ourselves against new and harder content, it's why we do what we do.
With those two things in mind here is the general plan for the upcoming weeks. We are going to begin by knocking out the first four bosses in Mogu'shan Vaults (on normal) then going over to Heart of Fear and progressing in there. The reason for this tactic is that it allows is to create farm content in Heart of Fear. Once we have at least a couple of bosses on farm in Heart of Fear we can then return to Mogu'shan Vaults and do some progression on Heroic. We'll do the same thing once Terrace of Endless Spring becomes available.
I found this link on the MMO Champion forums talking about the encounter difficulty of the bosses what are out right now and I plan to use it as a guide for where to go to next. If anyone finds info about boss difficulty or progression paths through the new raids post them in the comments to this article or start a thread in the forums to get a flow of ideas going .

With every new expansion comes a new race to max level and in that race there are winners and there are... everyone else. Of coarse not everyone has the time to spare or desire to spend the absolutely moronic amount of time it takes to hit the level cap as quickly as possible. Of those willing few there were some who through skill, luck, or sheer retard strength leveled faster than the rest. Congratulations to Uchiro who was Burn Phase's first 90. As the conquering champion Uchiro selected as his prize the Logitech Mouse. The guilds runner up was Stumble, who choose the Razer Headset. Palthus was the third level 90 (no prize for him cause he yells at his guildies, ninja logs from pugs after the first wipe and is suspected of killing Mankrik's wife). Honorable mention goes to those other BP members who reached 90 within the first week, Erman, Dotterup, Nikina (aka Thigan), and Meene. A special mention needs to go out to Mcfuzzeh (aka, Mcpally) who made it from level 1 to 90 on a Monk in a remarkably short period of time. Gratz to all our fresh level 90s. To all of those BPers still leveling up, keep grinding away once you ding 90 you've made it to the land of milk and honey... and daily quests lots and lots of daily quests.

September 25 Mists of Pandaria will drop and with it the race to max level will begin. We have one full week before Mogu'shan Vaults on Normal mode opens up and the official start of Burn Phase raiding is set for October 15th (if that surprized you check out The Plan For MoP). With that said I think we all want to be able to raid as soon as it's open and with as many guildies as possibe. To encourage folks to level as fast as possible and because sleep depervation is funny we are putting up prizes for the first three Burn Phase level 90s*. We've got a Razer Carcharias Headset, a Logitec G600 MMO Gaming Mouse, and a 60 day World of Warcraft game time card. It'll be pretty simple if you are the first BP level 90 you pick the prize you want, second chooses between the two remaining and third gets the last one.**
*Void where prohibited, not allowed in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico,Blades Edge Mountains, Vashj'ir and Pal's house
**If you are the second or third BP lvl 90 and really don't want the headset or the mouse you can choose a game card even if someone beat you to 90 and picked the game card.
-

Meene has leveled up, everyone be sure to let her know how much we appreciate her on her special day.
We didn't have any candles or presents but we thought the epic cake would make up for it.

In preparation for the release of the newest expansion, a Mists of Pandaria section is now open in the Burn Phase forums. -
Dragon Soul went live November 29, 2011 and at that time the core of Burn Phase answered the first round bell on the server Baelgun in a guild called Malice. We had some really good players with an attention span that lasted about as long as a Super Bowl commercial, a couple of players who met their match when they encountered Ultraxion’s button and a pair of brothers who’s interests were focused a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away… and the idea of killing Heroic Deathwing was about as likely as a Meene getting a pet Tarantula.
Since that time we have changed servers, changed guild names, we recruited and recruited and recruited lost players to everything from more progressed guilds to rage quitting over loot. Just like Rocky against Ivan Drago every time we got knocked down we managed to pick ourselves off the canvas and answer the bell for the next round.
As a group we overcame Yorsashj’s oozes, Zon’ozz’s pingpong ball of death, Hagara and her glitchy totems from hell, wipes and bloods, bloods and wipes on Spine and finally 234 days, or 7 months 21 days and god only knows how many rounds that comes too we put Heroic Deathwing on the canvas for good.
Grats to all the raiders who were in on the kill, Meene, Erman, Mcshamm, Thigan, Jeebus, Deathwings, Frozenevil, Exxcentrix, Pigiron and Palthus.

The raiders of <Burn Phase> are at it again. In what has been the toughest thing we have achieved this expansion Heroic Spine of Deathwing was killed on the eleventy first pull (that's 111 pulls for everyone who doesn't get the reference). After finding ways to wipe to everything from people not dropping from the boat, to tanks flying off Deathwings back to a healer having to "BRB Someone is Breaking Into My House" This fight was a punishing test that pushed the group to it's very limits. Once we were reliably able to single lift the first plate we knew a kill was imminent. With this major hurdle down only big daddy Heroic Madness of Deathwing stands between the BP raid team and a full Heroic Clear of the last tier of Cataclysm.
Grats to Meene, Ërman, Thigan, Stylisha, Mcshamm, Frozenevil, Deathwîngs, Jeebûs, Exxcentrix, and Palthus.

Mcshade completes his Fangs of the Father
Mcshade (otherwised known as Mcshamm, Mcpally and Mceverythingelseyoucanthinkof) completed the legenday dagger after 7 months, 2 servers and more PUGs than you can shake a stick at. It's totally appropriate that the guy who tirelessly campaigned to have our guild name be "And Two Stealthed Rogues" got our guild first Rogue only legndary.
Congratulations Mcshade.

Happy Fathers Day to all dads in guild, hope you have a great one! Here is something i made for my daddy :)

Two people die after swarms of deadly spiders invade Indian town
- Scores treated in hospital after being bitten
- Identity of 'highly aggressive' spider continues to remain a mystery
- Local officials believe that witchdoctors are now making the problem worse
By CRAIG MACKENZIE and TOM GOODENOUGH
|
Swarms of spiders descending from nowhere and biting those unfortunate enough to stray into their path sounds like the stuff of nightmares. But for people in one Indian town, the scenario is all too real. Two people are said to have died after being bitten by the poisonous creatures in Sadiya, in the north east of India. And scores more have been treated in hospital after the town was suddenly invaded by the poisonous eight-legged creatures last month, which have left residents living in a state of panic.
Now worried local officials are considering spraying the town with insecticide to kill off the menace, after experts have so far failed to identify the species. A scientist, who is one of those now camping in the area in an attempt to tackle the dangerous spiders, described the creatures in question as 'highly aggressive'.
Dr Saika, told the Times of India that the arachnid could even belong to a whole new species. He said: 'It leaps at anything that comes close. Some of the victims claimed the spider latched onto them after biting, and if that is so, it needs to be dealt with carefully.'
Rumours are rife that the spiders could be any of a number of poisonous arachnids, including possibly a tarantula, a black wishbone, or even the feared funnel-web spider.
Experts are also concerned that the spider epidemic is being made worse by the influence of witch doctors in the town. Dr Anil Phatowali, a superintendent at Sadiya's local hospital, said that both of those who died had first sought the treatment of witch doctors, who had cut open the wounds with razors and drained out the blood before burning it.
Residents have spoken of their shock at the sudden invasion of spiders who entered the town whilst Hindu festival celebrations were in full swing last month. Jintu Gogoi, who was one of those bitten by the spider, told how he suffered excruciating pain and nausea after being attacked, with his finger still blackened and swollen weeks later. Whatever the identity of the mystery spiders, experts agree that the creatures are unlikely to be native to the area. Researchers are also still running tests to discover how poisonous the spiders are after medical chiefs questioned the authenticity of the bite claims. Dr. Anil Phatowali, superintendent of the town's hospital, said they had not administered an antidote as they could not be certain the spider was venomous at all, pointing to the treatment by witchdoctors as a possible factor in the two recorded deaths.
The above image was included in the article, though its actually a Sazima's Tarantula and not the spiders causing the deaths. As far as I know, they are still being classified as "mystery spiders" but I thought Meene would appreciate the photo nonetheless. :) -

From the desk of Palthus:
Dear diary,
Following a rough Tuesday ...yelling at each other about ice lances and dying to glitchy totems... the raiders of Burn Phase came to Thursday's raid expecting a long night of progression; a boss widely regarded as a big step-up in difficulty from all earlier bosses. What they got was a shockingly easy progression kill. One wipe to a healer still in his DPS spec, three to deaths within the first 30 seconds of the pull and two wipes that actually involved fight mechanics. Lucky pull #7 was a winner for Burn Phase. Big dick DPS, tough as nails tanking and leet heals meant one thing... Warmaster Blackhorn is DEAD AS FUCK!
Gratz to Meene, Mcshamm, Deathwîngs, Excentrix, Stylisha, Thigan, Jeebûs, Ërman, Frozenevil and Palthus

<Burn Phase> got on the progression track with a kill of Heroic Hagara. And in true old school fashion it was done it was done on the last pull of the night. After a heartbreaking wipe at 1500 health (that's .03% for you math wizzes out there) as scheduled raid time ended. Everyone was game for a "last last pull of the night" even though trash respawned and had to be cleared to get there. It was all worth it as everyone executed flawlessly and yet another evil doer fell to the combined forehead bludgeoning of a Burn Phase raid team.

We are looking for Ërman's Family Ties:
We believe that knowing your guildies family is nearly as important as knowing your guildies themselves. In our research we have uncovered some remarkable family traits in our guilds member.
However one promonent Burn Phase member has buried his past deep and hidden his family from my best efforts to locate them.
But the truth must be revealed!! I am offering 1000 gold to anyone who can provide the best photo of our demonic DPS with his closest relative.
Bear in mind that there must be an undeniable family resemblance. The man hunt has a two week time limit so entries must be posted by Midnight Realm Time April 28th to qualify.

As of this moment, all current Burn Phase members should have access to the website. All permissions for current occupied ranks have been set. Officers (Rank 1 and 2) should have access to the Officer's Lounge as well. Special thanks to Ayslynn for taking the time to work through the process with me ... and letting me know members were still locked out. If anyone is still having access issues, or you hit a page that gives you a permissions error, please let me know through the website mail.

From his humble beginnings as an independent restaurant owner in the bayou, to face raping warrior of Azeroth, its been a long hard road for our friend Palchillies.
Burn Phase: So tell us about the Grill and Bar ...
Palchillies: /sigh. Well that was a hard one. 25 years in business ... then one day, boyhowdy, them doors got closed. Suits from up north came toolin' out in their fancy black cars and slapped a "cease and desist" on me. Says I was stompin' on their trademark someway'an'how. I says, "Hell boys, that's ma name!" ... but they weren't having none of it. Used to serve a damn fine Cajun possum burger too. Pity.Burn Phase: But now its on to bigger and better?
Palchillies: Yes sir! I aim to make a mark on this here Mal'Ganis bigger than my Aunt Sally's bee-hind. Papa Pal didnt raise no slacker and I'm a'here ta prove it! Just watch me ...
So whether its searing the flesh of swamp critters in a smoke filled kitchen or pwning noobs on the plains of Mulgore, we're happy to have Palchillies on our side.

The website is now officially transferred and no longer affiliated with Malice. Its roster has been cleared and we're now listed as a Mal'Ganis guild in the Curse profiles. In order for you to regain access, you must add the toon(s) your transferred as a NEW character to your Curse account.
To do this, look to your account dash board in the upper right hand corner of the website. Click on the down arrow and select "Add a character". Once you have completed the verification process, be sure to delete your old toon from your account.
As Meene adjusts the guild ranks and moves folks around there may be times where you will suddenly lose access to the members section of the website. As a result of the transfer, all rank permissions have been reset to zero and must be manually adjusted. If you happen to get moved into a rank that has yet to have its permissions set, you could find yourself stripped of member access by default until I can get in there and update the rank. If this does occur, please contact me and I'll have you back in business ASAP.

Just a heads up ... there may be a transitional period concerning the website that we all must endure for a time. Following the server transfer, we'll most likely have a couple of clunky weeks in which certain links may not function properly and graphics still reflect the guild name of "Malice" in certain sections. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the transfer process, I an unable to start the work until after the guild moves. As a result we'll all have to live in a guild house that is currently under construction. Bring your ear plugs and hard hats and don't walk under my fucking ladders.
You'll still be able to visit the website during this time to utilize the calendar for raid sign-ups, DKP, posting in the forums, etc. There's a good bit of work to be done as far as new logo headers and updating links and redirects so it could take some time before all sections are back in action. As our guild name changes so does our URL ... which on my end means all manually entered code that includes the maliceguild.wowstead.com directory will have to be changed to reflect the new URL. What it means for you, is that you'll have to check the guild info in-game in order to find out the new website address. Once the website moves, the current address will no longer be valid. Keep in mind that a new account will have to be created at WoL, so until I have that info from Meene or Pal, the widget will still display Malice uploads. I'm hoping to have everything done as expediently as possible, but you never know what kind of BS I may run into. Once I feel the rebuild is complete I'll let everyone know. At that point, please notify me of any errors you encounter.
When Will The Website Make The Move?
The website is linked to my toon Rengoresh so the server transfer of the website will not officially occur until Reng makes his journey over to Mal'Ganis. This should occur on the evening on the 30th after I've heard from Meene. Unsure how long it will take for Curse to register the transfer. Have to wait and see on that one.
Website Member Status: Post Transfer
<Following info is invalid. It was just a guess since the curse knowledge base is offline so I'm having to figure it out as I go along. Read THIS for the proper procedure> In theory, once the Blizz armory properly displays your toon as living on Mal'Ganis, you should have access to the website. Your Curse profile should follow suit as it retrieves its information via the Armory and, once updated, should grandfather you in. In the past we've experienced an Armory-to-Curse update lag of 24 hours ... but I believe they've cut that down in recent months. Worst case scenario, you can expect a day wait. If your Curse profile reflects the proper server and guild name, yet for some reason you cannot access the members section of the website, please send me a message by clicking the contact link at the top of the news section and I'll try to help you out.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
See you all on Mal'Ganis ...
